Humanity Strengthens My Resolve

by Jarrod

Last week I was on the train heading out into the city to spend some time with my friends when I was confronted with quite a site for suburban Australia.

On the other side of one of the stations where a bunch of police and paramedics standing around an otherwise deserted platform.

As our train rolled up alongside we saw why there were there.

A young man sat dazed, probably with a concussion, blood coming from his head, leaning up against the wire fence.

I don’t know there was a bashing on the trains or it was something in the local neighbourhood. All I know is that it was broad daylight, 5pm in the afternoon.

I felt sympathy and sadness for humanity.

To know that there are people out there who would bring violence to another person for whatever reason just makes me sad. I feel it is something totally unnecessary in this day and age.

This is why I want to be a ‘force for good’, forgive the cliche but I honestly want to be a positive influence on the world. I want to make people realise just how happy they can all be, living peaceful and enjoyable lives.

That is my resolve.
